I always had the intention of starting a blog after I opened my consignment shop, sort of a design your life blog with fun posts about DIY projects, family life and of course interior design tips. NEVER in my wildest imagination would I have thought that I would be writing my first post under a state mandated quarantine! But, here we are, trying to make the best of a bad situation, trying to take advantage of all the extra time at home with our families...I don't know about you but I am EXHAUSTED! Trying to be the best version of myself everyday, attempting to be a pre-school teacher and a middle school teacher/guidance counselor, transforming my living room into a home office and a home gym, becoming a chef, handyman and landscaper. It's all too much, we tend to put too much pressure on ourselves to do it all and be the best that we can be. What I have learned over these last few weeks is that it is ok to take a day or two to just play and enjoy. Put the to-do-list away for a day, spread a blanket on the floor and have a living room picnic and then watch a movie in the middle of the afternoon. No one is keeping a score card and those will be the days you will remember when life returns to the crazy rat race we are all so desperate to return to.
With all that being said, I would like to introduce myself, my name is Mandy. I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece and friend. All of the afore mentioned are very important to me and have shaped who I am as a person today. This is my first attempt at a blog so please be gentle. My most recent adventure is stepping out of the 9 to 5 arena to open my own furniture consignment shop with my mother. We both have backgrounds in design, she in interior design and I in kitchen and bath design. But more than just our work history, we both have a passion for design and decorating.
I'm creating this blog to share decorating ideas, design tips and personal do-it yourself projects. My hope is that you will visit often and be inspired to create beautiful spaces inside your own home.
I understand how hectic life can be and how hard it can be to get inspired. When you go thru your day to day routine sometimes the spaces in your home become routine too and fade into the background. I would like to spark your imagination and help you re-see your space with new eyes and to help transform them into a space you really enjoy coming home to.
I encourage comments and feedback, and please feel free to reach out to me via email as well, firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also visit us at our store, we're more than happy to help you in any way we can. My hope is to connect with you and create a relationship, to help you fall in love with your home again.
